Carya Golf is the first classic, heathland style golf course to be built on Türkiye's Mediterranean coast. Designed by Thomson Perrett & Lobb, the international golf course architecture practice founded by five times Open Champion Peter Thomson, it is a championship golf course set on undulating sand hills and cutting through mature pine and eucalyptus forest, at the heart of Türkiye's golf coast. Peter Thomson, said “this is an exceptional piece of land on which to build a golf course. It is reminiscent of the famous Surrey heathland courses near London that I rate among the world’s best and which I was fortunate to enjoy much success on in my playing days. I am very excited about the prospect of TPL creating a classic, traditional style course in Türkiye”. Carya is a classic course, unique to the region, and featuring naturally cultivated heather. Grown in an extensive nursery on site, Carya’s heather shapes define the course into a truly magnificent spectacle. Lakes, dunes, and rivers are some of the course’s many challenges

The golf course is nestled in between the coast and the Besgoz River, so the architects worked hard to continue the water theme throughout the course. Water hazards are a defining feature of nearly half of the holes here in the form of huge lakes and ponds. Yet players can enjoy the best of both worlds as there is a real mixture of parkland and tree lined fairways, with three or four holes having a links feel to them. Some of the best views across the golf course can be appreciated at the par-four 12th hole on the Mediterranean loop. This hole is set running directly along the coast with views spanning right across the Mediterranean. Golfers must refrain from becoming too distracted, because this hole is widely considered to be among some of the most difficult on the golf course. Golfers must manoeuvre their shot around the out of bounds area lining the right side of the fairway and a pine tree on the left side in order to reach the green.

This is a truly magnificent course, which is routed thoughtfully across gently rolling terrain and through mature pine and eucalyptus trees. The snow-capped Taurus Mountains provide a provocative backdrop especially as the course is bathed in hot sunshine for the vast majority of the year. The 18 hole Championship Course, designed by Ryder Cup Player David Feherty and Seniors Tour Player David Jones, has played host to the PGA European Turkish Seniors Open in 1996 and 1997.

MGA events are held upon basic Islamic values hence there will be no alcohol or gambling involved, and prayer arrangements will be made.  We ask all our travellers to respect these guidelines.

Alastair has 30+ years of experience within the golf industry fulfilling a variety of roles including General Manager, Director of Golf, Head Professional and freelance coach. In 2011, Alastair designed a participation and coaching programme that with the support of leading global agricultural company, Syngenta, has now grown into a nationally acclaimed project called love.golf love.golf is based upon Alastair’s studies at the University of Birmingham and the consumer insight from recent research commissioned by Syngenta. As love.golf’s head coach Alastair supports a global team of like-minded and forward-thinking coaches, helping to create opportunity and impact, sharing best practice, building and growing a community of new and existing golfers.

I love that golf is a unique challenge every day and I know I must be at my absolute best to overcome it. I love playing golf, and whilst I’m not especially competitive anymore, I have competed at a prominent level before recurring injuries hindered my performance Having coached for ten years now, I have worked with players at all levels from beginners to elite, as well as players of all ages. On your trip we will provide you with a fantastic set of clubs and balls so all you need to worry about is just having fun. However, if you wanted to bring your own clubs then no problem.
