Can Muslims work in Golf?
54 and Golf Saudi are opening up the PIF London Championship, one of the biggest weeks on the Ladies European Tour calendar, to give Muslim youth (18-24) direct, hands-on work experience in three real event teams: Marketing Strategy, Guest Experience, and Earned Media, in partnership with the Muslim Golf Association. This isn't shadowing from the sidelines. Each participant is placed into a working team for the Championship, taking on real responsibilities alongside professionals across marketing, hospitality, and sports media. Every participant gains hands-on experience, direct exposure to industry professionals, and depending on role, a formal Certificate of Excellence, access to player interviews, or exposure to a full event marketing operation. Places are limited to two people per role.

Earned Media Intern
The Role:
- Golf Content Support: Assisting with reporting, fact-checking, and terminology to ensure accuracy in our media output.
- Media Center Operations: Welcoming journalists and managing accreditation/badge distribution during my time away from the desk.
- Strategic Events: Assisting with guest management and check-in for the “Women’s Sports Playbook” panel (Friday, August 7, 11:00 AM).
- Availability: Thursday, August 6th through Sunday, August 9th.

Guest Experience Team – Event Experience
The Role:
- Event Logistics – Gain insight into the planning and logistics behind delivering a world-class sporting event. While much of this will involve shadowing experienced team members, there will be the opportunity to learn how hotel room allocations are managed, event clothing inventory and distribution is coordinated, transportation schedules and guest movements are planned to ensure a seamless event experience.
- Guest Management – Support the delivery of the VIP and player guest programme by assisting with a variety of guest-facing responsibilities. This includes working with the team to prepare Pro-Am gift bags, welcoming and checking in guests, assisting with prize displays, and helping manage event access through accreditation, lanyards, and badge distribution.
- Food & Beverage – Learn how food and beverage services are planned and delivered at a major sporting event. Responsibilities may include working with the F&B team members to verify buffet set-ups against planned menus, monitoring daily guest numbers, and assisting with inventory and stock management to ensure a high-quality guest dining experience.

Marketing Strategy – Event Experience
The Role:
- Ticketing Campaigns – Support the delivery of the PIF London Championship ticketing campaign by assisting with promotional activity, monitoring ticket sales performance, updating tracking documents, and helping coordinate ticket offers across digital channels. Gain an understanding of how marketing campaigns are planned, executed, and optimised to drive attendance.
Community & CSR Initiatives – Assist with the delivery of community engagement and CSR programmes throughout Championship week. This includes supporting golf clinics, community activations, local stakeholder engagement, and helping coordinate schedules, participant communications, and event logistics.
Social Media & Content – Support the day-to-day delivery of the Championship’s social media channels by assisting with content planning, capturing behind-the-scenes content, monitoring community engagement, and helping publish live event updates throughout the tournament.- Spectator Communications – Help ensure spectators have the information they need before and during the event by assisting with website updates, Know Before You Go communications, FAQs, venue information, and customer enquiries to deliver an outstanding fan experience.
- Campaign Reporting & Marketing Operations – Gain exposure to the reporting and analysis behind a major international sporting event by assisting with campaign tracking, compiling performance data, monitoring marketing activity, and supporting the wider marketing team with day-to-day operations.

What is this opportunity?

Do I need sporting experience?
No, we don't expect you to have any sporting experience. However, candidates should have an affinity for a sporting environment, and those with some sporting enthusiasm or exposure will have an advantage.
Who can apply?
Muslim youth aged 18-24 who are eligible to work or volunteer in the UK, can get to and from Centurion Club under their own arrangements, and can commit to the full availability window for their chosen role (9:00am-6:30pm on event days). The role also involves a physically active, fast-paced environment, so please only apply if you're comfortable with that.
Is there a cost to take part?
No. Breakfast and lunch are provided daily. Participants are responsible for arranging their own transport to and from Centurion Club, we're unable to cover travel.
What will I gain?
